Over the past 14 years, I've had opportunities to observe various aspects of the manufacturing process, from design engineering, and production to marketing campaigns and developing strategies to promote product offerings and ultimately generate revenue. Manufacturing sales is about people and relationship building, both aspects of which my expertise is most valued. Having had the opportunity to work in sales supporting leadership roles for global manufacturing companies in agriculture, industrial engineering and automation sectors, I've had the pleasure of collaborating with marketing teams, sales managers, regional directors, c-suite executives, stakeholders, business owners and external distribution partners to strategize, develop and execute sales objectives.
In my role as a Sales Support Manager, I strategically developed an internal sales support team and concept that not only significantly increased sales metrics overall but also helped to solidify distribution partnerships, customer relationships, and expand an overall brand awareness. The concept is to manage the initial phases of the customer sales cycle, from prospecting to qualifying, all internally while the sales representative concentrates their time & efforts on nurturing customer relationships and closing deals. Sure, there are similar approaches used with SDR's in tech, finance and telecommunications however, nothing catered specifically to manufacturing seemed to exist.
